# Green BG Remover: remove green-screen backgrounds cleanly

Green BG Remover removes a **green-screen background** and leaves clean, softly feathered edges with the green tint taken out of them. It's free and runs on your computer.

## When to use it

Use **Color Removal V2** first. If it struggles, the usual reason is that the AI didn't make a truly flat background color — it looks flat to you, but a computer sees lots of slightly different colors.

That's where Green BG Remover comes in. It's built around a **single color** (green), so it handles uneven green backgrounds much better.

**The bulk trick:** ask your AI image generator to put every image on a **neon green background**, then run Green BG Remover on the whole batch. You get far more consistent removals than with random background colors — especially with lower-quality generators.

## How to use it

1. Add **Green BG Remover** to your pipeline (type "green" in the tool search).
2. Leave **Threshold** at **60** — that's the sweet spot for most green backgrounds.
3. Check a few images in the filmstrip. Nudge Threshold up or down only if needed.
4. Add **Trim** after it to cut away the empty space.

## The settings

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Threshold** (0–255, default 60) | How green a pixel has to be to be removed. 60 works for most images; test other values if edges look wrong. |
| **Custom Settings** (default off) | Unlocks fine-tuning: **Min Saturation** (0–1, default 0.08), **Min Green** (0–255, default 20), **Feather Radius** (0.5–10, default 3), **Choke Low** (default 0.3) and **Choke High** (default 0.7). Most images don't need these. |

If you find yourself fighting the Custom Settings, the background color is probably too inconsistent to remove cleanly — regenerate it on a cleaner neon green.
