What ReadyPixl costs

Free web version, Pro, Chrome extension, desktop app, and credits — what you get with each and which one is right for you.

ReadyPixl has a free web version, a one-time Pro upgrade, and a one-time desktop app. Nothing is a subscription and nothing auto-renews. Most people can start with the free web version and upgrade only when they need more downloads or desktop-only features.

The free web version — forever

The web version at readypixl.com is free, forever. Every tool, the full pipeline, batch processing — all free.

What "free" means here: free. Not a free trial. Not "free until you actually use it." Just free. The web version is the main product.

What you can do with it right now (all free):

  • Remove colors (Color Removal V2), including solid-color backgrounds
  • Resize images
  • Cut off empty edges (Trim)
  • Put an image on a custom-sized canvas (Reposition)
  • Put your subject on a colored background (Canvas Fill)
  • Rotate, flip, or erase corners
  • Clean up tiny stray pixels
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, color
  • Apply filters and grunge effects
  • Add decorative borders
  • Add text or image watermarks

The web version also includes a free Upscaler that runs on your own computer (in your browser). It's free, but a slow computer can struggle or crash on large batches.

Paid AI tools (use credits):

  • AI Background Removal — for images where the regular background remover isn't good enough. 15 credits per image with Recraft AI (~1.5¢), or 20 credits with Ideogram (~2¢).
  • AI Upscale — runs on our servers instead of your computer, and adds an 8x option. 10 credits per image (~1¢).

Both call outside AI services, which is why they cost credits. Credits are $1 per 1,000 credits — for example, $5 buys 5,000 credits (about 330 AI background removals or 500 AI upscales). You can buy any amount from $5 to $500, with one-click packs of $20, $30, $50 and $100. Credits are a one-time top-up and never renew. Sign in to use these. The free tools handle most jobs without needing either one.

Pro — one-time, lifetime

Pro is for people who use ReadyPixl often and want unlimited downloads.

  • $29 launch price while the launch offer is active, $49 regular price — USD, one-time payment, lifetime access. The launch price is applied automatically at checkout; no coupon needed.
  • Unlimited web-version downloads.
  • Unlimited Chrome extension downloads.
  • Priority support.

Pro does not include credits: the AI tools stay pay-per-use because they call outside services. (Pro used to be a monthly subscription. It was retired: everyone with an active subscription was upgraded to lifetime Pro for free, and their remaining monthly bonus credits became permanent credits.)

Chrome extension — included with your account

The Chrome extension lets you use ReadyPixl on images from almost any website.

The extension adds a + button to images on sites like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Kimi, Ideogram, Google Images, and stock image sites. One click sends the image into a ReadyPixl side panel.

Extension download limits:

Who it's for: people who work inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Kimi, Ideogram, or stock image sites a lot.

Desktop app — paid

The desktop app is ReadyPixl packaged as a native app for Windows and macOS. Same pipeline idea, with desktop-only power.

The headline feature: a stronger free local upscaler. The desktop Upscaler (free) runs on your computer with no per-image credit cost, and its Extra High tier goes up to 8x (on the web, 8x is only in the paid AI Upscale).

Other niceties:

  • 7-day free trial with no credit card
  • One-time purchase after the trial — no refunds after purchase, so use the trial to try everything
  • $89 regular price
  • $49 launch price while the launch offer is active (applied automatically at checkout)
  • 1 year of free updates included; after that your installed version keeps working
  • Works offline for 7 days after the last online license check
  • Windows Explorer / macOS Finder right-click actions
  • CLI / Automation tools for heavier batch work

Who it's for: people who'll upscale a lot (local upscaling beats paying credits per image), people who prefer apps to browser tabs, or anyone working offline.

Which one should you pick?

  • Just trying it out — free web version, no account. Upgrade only when you need to.
  • Use it regularly, want to save work — free web version, free signup. 100 downloads a day and your presets sync.
  • Work inside AI image generators or stock sites a lot — Chrome extension. The + button is the killer feature.
  • Need unlimited web or extension downloads — Pro, one-time.
  • Going to upscale lots of images — desktop app. Local upscaling beats paying credits per image.

Paid versions are always optional and always one-time. The free web version stays free and full-featured forever — that's the whole point.
